Why Have Our Service Techs Summerize Your Boat?

Summerizing seems easy enough. Turn the key, engine starts and we are off to our favourite anchorage. Pleasure boats have so many systems that it is strongly recommended that each one is started and run through a cycle. For example: If the engine starts that is great, but is it pumping the required amount of water or is the thermostat working properly? Does the engine have the recommended oil pressure? Has the oil level been checked?

These are the types of situations our trained technicians look for when you have our service department summerize your boat. Sometimes an air conditioning unit has to be primed and if let run too long in a dry state this could lead to a component being damaged. Although you may think that in some instances summerizing may not be necessary, it can become more costly if the signs of a component overheating are not noticed which could lead to a repair. Batteries are your life line to your boat. When we check them we charge them, fill with distilled water, clean terminals and perform a load test and a specific gravity test on them.

These items do take time but we feel it is better for you to find out here at your dock rather than out on the water where help could be limited.
