Heated Dry Stack Storage Is Another Bay Port Advantage!
Drystack Storage is the storage of boats on racks in our state-of-the-art, multi-level, heated and secured storage building.
Boats are transported from the drystack building to the water on our specially-designed forklift.
You simply call ahead or book online to have your boat placed in the water. When you arrive, your boat is waiting for you at the staging dock, fueled and ready to go.
When you return from a day on the bay, you simply tie the boat up at the staging dock and let the drystack staff rinse the boat and return it to its rack.
Some of the many advantages of drystack storage include:
- Full security and protection. Owners may save on insurance costs.
- Drystack storage is convenient. Eliminates boat trailer.
- Marina staff is responsible for boat handling and rinsing with fresh water.
- Provides easy, convenient storage for boaters who live in neighborhoods with covenants/restrictions.

Winning With Dry Stack at Bay Port
If the truth be known my new boat would not have happened with out a chance call with Ken MacDonald. When he described the concept for the new dry stack I knew right away that the program fit me to a tee. Finalizing my choice Ken assured me it was a fit to the dry stack plan and it was going to be no problem to handle my 28. With a restored boat, you get somewhat touchy about the baking sun and a summer sitting in the water, new paint being easily susceptible to damage, but with the dry stack option my boats value will be maintained and I believe enhanced. Value enough for the decision to go there but I found out the real dividends just kept coming all season long. The first one came as we decided we no longer needed anti fouling and opted for a special white Teflon paint giving our boat a neat clean look.
With my business life time on the water is compressed to day trips and the odd over nighters, scheduled travel and trip to our offices in Toronto make the hours I have somewhat limited. So to my surprise the ability to show up drop the boat in the water when the mornings overcast clouds gave way to a wonderful perfect Georgian Bay afternoon was perfect solution for me and our family. In fact this flexibility gave me more hours this year on the water than past years. With a few projects on my list after my shakedown I was thrilled to have the boat merely cradled outside near power, water and not too far from the chandlery, it was not an issue for the Bayport team to orchestrate. And the biggest dividend came lately with winter approaching, so after one quick late autumn cruise I watched my boat picked up , hosed off and put away inside for the winter. No shrink wrap, no emptying the boat, no cleaning the bottom.
The dry stack option for me is a perfect fit and I suspect for anyone who wants their boat under cover in a controlled heated and who lives as much on the go as I do.
